January/February 2016

A new collection of modern tales about modern life created through the collaboration between schools and Box Clever Theatre Company, supported by the Chaucer Foundation. From the genesis of an idea in the classroom through to its full realisation as newly written stories recited and performed, the Chaucer Tales project brings together theatre practitioners and young people from a group of secondary schools in south east London and the Kent borders.

We will explore the world as seen from the point of view of young people. We will listen to their aspirations for themselves and for their communities. Of course, we cannot predict what the young people will say but whatever their views, they will be presented in the format of the direct address story telling. Each school work on their own tale and then come together to share their stories and generate new tales in response.
