Box Clever’s newest play Puck of the Estate is an innovative and extra-ordinary playwriting project in which life inspires art and art returns the compliment the play, further to development at the National Theatre Studio, will be touring nationally in the autumn of 2012..
The play is about a community, a micro-society. It is about the people who live in that community and the characters who are often only glimpsed in parks or on the streets – characters who are often avoided or stereotyped.
Puck of the Estate reminds us that communities are always made up of individuals with their own dreams and aspirations.
The play was uniquely devised by Box Clever’s writer in residence Michael Wicherek and students from six schools across southern England, from Dover to London to Bristol. From October 2009 the students and Michael have collaborated to develop the script, characters and scenes.
