Anti-bullying performances and workshops for young people in Brent

Box Clever will deliver its unique, interactive production that portrays the devastating impact of victimisation and hate crime to young people in five schools in North-West London.

The Hate Play is an exciting, interactive performance that tackles these issues in a way that encourages the young people to discuss their thoughts and experiences of bullying. This project aims to make an effective contribution to the promotion of  social harmony and tolerance within each school community.

We will perform The Hate Play in five schools across the North-West London.  After the performance, we will revisit these schools to share the thoughts the young people have had since seeing the performance and to encourage the creative expression of their response.

At the end of the project, we will hold plenary sessions where students from the different participating schools can come together to share their opinions and experiences.

Project timeline

Stage 1: We will tour The Hate Play to five schools in North-West London.

Stage 2: We will carry out two follow-up creative writing workshops to each participating school to further explore the young people’s response to the play.

Stage 3: A number of students from each of the project school will gather, share their thoughts and collaborate in the making of a new piece of writing during a three day workshop.
