As we approach the end of the first phase of the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation funded tour of Lincolnshire schools in 2014, we are delighted to report a very successful tour. The performances of Introduction to Shakespeare and Macbeth were watched by a total of 3429 students across secondary schools in the area.

The evaluation report has been completed, with some fantastic results:

Macbeth

  • 87% of students thought that the play was really good and wanted to watch what was happening
  • 96% of teachers thought the play was really good and held the attention of the students
  • 100% of teachers thought that the students were challenged to think about the characters and the play
  • 100% of teachers found the whole experience really worthwhile

Introduction to Shakespeare

  • 97% of students found the whole experience really worthwhile
  • 94% of students thought that seeing the Introduction helped them understand more about Shakespeare
  • 100% of teachers thought that the students were encouraged to find Shakespeare interesting and accessible
  • 100% of teachers found the whole experience really worthwhile
