Sixteen Up

Sixteen Up was the second tour in the Urban Mischief Project and followed on the heels of thriller Dirty Kissing.

The story

Box Clever present a compelling new adaptation of their award-winning production SIXTEEN, offering an intimate, witty and unique take on the complexities and confusions of first love.

Through intricate wordplay a young couple challenge each other in their own private language, and their honesty and intensity entice the audience into a tender world of inexperience.

Featuring specially-commissioned animation, this moving and poetic two-hander is written by Michael Wicherek and directed by Iqbal Khan (National Theatre).

Reviews

“The play is a beautifully written, well acted and most importantly, a moving piece. No amount of audience detachment can survive witnessing the estranged lovers’ achingly poignant meeting.” Read full review
