Introduction to Shakespeare
Ideally suited for Years 6&7
Length: 75 minutes
On tour in rep with Romeo & Juliet and Macbeth in Spring 2017.
The ideal way to explore Shakespeare, his life and works in a seventy-five minute interactive workshop. The session explores the cultural background to his life and works, as well as covering key excerpts from a selection of plays including Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth, Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, Twelfth Night and Henry IV. The workshop demystifies the text and explores the play in performance. Supported by a resource pack.
“Pitched at a good level with high expectations, fast paced and entertaining, much enjoyed by students and staff.”
– Head of English, Rickmansworth School, Hertfordshire
Adapted by Michael Wicherek; Riad Richie, Maria Simmonds and Cory Stuckey to present the Intro.
