2017/18 Creative Team


We are excited to announce our creative team for 2017/18.



Charlyne Francis


Charlyne trained at Rose Bruford College and the Brit School. Since graduating she has worked in Theatres including; The Royal Court, The Bush Theatre, Royal Albert Hall, The Arcola, Stratford Circus and The Albany to name a few. She has also worked in television; recent credits include Killing Eve (BBC America) and in radio.
She has worked extensively with Box Clever Theatre and is thrilled to be returning this season.

Charlyne will be appearing in Mark and the Marked


Cory Stuckey


Cory trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Graduated in 2014. Recent credits include Jack and The Beanstalk (Hurricane Theatre); What Ryan Did (Fine Mess Theatre); Transports (Analogue Theatre); A Winters Tale and Jerusalem (Mountview). Cory has worked with Box Clever on a number of projects including the role of Romeo in Romeo and Juliet and Mario in Getting There.

Cory will be appearing in The Passenger


Emma Butcher


Emma Butcher ActorEmma trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and since graduating, she has played a wide variety of roles, from Lady Macbeth to a Pantomime Dame and every female role in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (and some of the male ones as well!) She has toured in Germany and Northern Ireland, as well as most of England and says she “just can’t get enough of the open road”. Emma has been involved in many previous Box Clever projects and is pleased to be able to continue to bring lively theatre to young people up and down the country with Car Story.
Emma will be leading and taking part in Bespoke Workshops


Enrico Aurigemma

Sound Artist

Enrico is an Italian sound artist, classical guitarist and music producer based in London having graduated in classical guitar at the London College of Music. His music style has been described as experimental, minimal and psychedelic. His collaborations include with the London-based rock-noire ensemble, Vivianne Viveur, West Country artist, Matthew Robins and his Flyboy Company, and experimental ensemble, Solaris. He has also composed music and designed sound for Tim Spooner’s performed installation The Voice of Nature (Artsadmin), Amara Spence’s Abuelo (Birmingham Rep) and David Sheppeard’s Hard Graft (Ovalhouse Theatre). He has performed in shows at The Barbican Theatre, Battersea Arts Centre, Little Angel Theatre, BFI as well as The Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh, and Opera North, Leeds.
Enrico has composed the music for Frankenstein and The Merchant of Venice



Evie Tyler


Evie graduated from the BA Acting course at Rose Bruford College in 2013. Her credits include: for Box Clever two tours of Romeo & Juliet and the Introduction to Shakespeare Workshop and multiple Bespoke Workshops. Other credits: Palimpsest’s If I Can, A Midsummer Night’s Dream & The Importance of Being Earnest for Tales for Enchantment, Sirena for Jethro Compton Productions, Sonnet Walks and What You Will: Pop Up Shakespeare for The Globe and Henry V for Compagnia Pippo del Bono at the RSC Complete Works Festival.

Evie will be appearing in Bespoke Workshops


Florence Hazard


From a childhood of making anything and everything with whatever was to hand, Florence was introduced to Theatre Design by some fantastic art and drama teachers. This led to completing a season with the National Youth Theatre and undertaking a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design before beginning her degree course.
Florence went on to graduate with a first class degree in Theatre Design from Rose Bruford in 2012. Since graduating she has worked across theatre, film, opera and advertising as a designer, design assistant, costume maker and model maker as well as regularly running design workshops at the National Theatre.

Iqbal Khan


Iqbal-KhanIqbal is a regular collaborator with the company. returns to Box Clever this season after directing the company’s recent tours of Time for the Good Looking Boy and Romeo and Juliet. He trained at the National Studio, Leicester Haymarket Theatre, Middlesex University and The Academy Drama School. Box Clever is delighted to welcome him back as he is a creative, versatile and dynamic director with critically acclaimed performances for both the National Theatre (Harold Pinter’s A Slight Ache and Landscape and Ayub Khan-Din’s Rafta, Rafta) and the RSC (Much Ado About Nothing, Othello).

Iqbal will be directing Frankenstein and The Merchant of Venice


Jack Blakey


Jack Blakey is very excited to be joining Box Clever for his professional debut. He is a recently graduated Actor Musician from Rose Bruford College, where he appeared as Medviedenko in The Seagull, and was Musical Director of the musical Island Song in his final year.

Jack will be appearing in Frankenstein and The Merchant of Venice


Jessica Dennis


Jessica graduated from East 15 Acting School back in 2007. Since graduating she has worked in many top theatres including Watford Palace and The West Yorkshire Playhouse. She is a singer and voice actor, who has recorded numerous radio plays for the award-winning Wireless Theatre Company, audio giant Audible and BBC Radio 4. She is delighted to be back and touring with Box Clever.

Lateshia Howell


Lateshia is very excited to be making her professional debut playing Sami in Box Clever Theatre’s ‘The Passenger’. She is a recent BA Acting graduate from The Guildford School of Acting. Her credits include Mary Brenham in Our Country’s Good, Bawd/Lychorida in Pericles and Jane/Lady in Distress in The Women. She has also appeared in the 2017 Iconoclast advert for Sainsbury’s as Olivia.

Lateshia will be appearing in The Passenger, Romeo & Juliet and Macbeth.



Lidia Crisafulli


Lidia is a London based freelance photographer.

Born in Catania in 1991, she discovered photography at the age of fourteen, when she began to express herself through the lenses of her first camera, a simple reflex. After secondary school, she moved to Milan to join the Istituto Italiano di Fotografia. Here she had an opportunity to deepen her knowledge of photography. Then, inspired by a passion for theatre, she entered the world of show business (naturally, behind the lens) at the Accademia Teatroalla Scala in Milan, photographing actors, musicians, shows and concerts. Liam Woodlands-Mooney


Having taken part in a lot of extra-curricular drama at school, Liam realised that having fun on stage was how he wanted to spend his adult life rather than anything else so he decided to pursue the dream of acting full-time. Having auditioned at a whole bunch of drama schools for the three year BA Hons acting course, he was lucky enough to get a place at Italia Conti starting in September 2014. He then moved from North Yorkshire to London and now, three years and one BA later, he’s very excited to get his first professional theatre job with Box Clever

Maria Gray


After training at East 15 Drama School gaining a BA in Acting and at Flic Circus School in Turin, Italy, Maria has had a very interesting and varied career, working for companies as diverse as York Theatre Royal, Orange Tree Theatre, Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company, and Action Theatre. She has been a valuable asset to the Company, tackling roles from Polly in Car Story to Juliet in Romeo and Juliet . She also has an impressive range of skills from acrobatics, devising, trapeze, aerial hoop, dance, puppetry, Commedia dell’Arte and mask work to playing the ukulele and banjo.

Maria will be taking part in Bespoke Workshops


Matt Rutherford


Matthew Rutherford Actor for Box Clever Theatre

Matthew has been acting professionally since leaving university in 1996 with an Honours degree in Drama. He has appeared in the West End in The Buddy Holly Story and has toured with Jason Donovan in Sweeny Todd. As well as his work in theatre, which has taken him around the country and to the continent, he has also appeared on TV with Amanda Burton in a Lynda La Plante drama and in films including Ridley Scott’s Kingdom of Heaven.

Matt will be appearing in Getting There


Michael Holden


Michael is a recent graduate of LIPA and joins the team after completing his first year out of drama school. His most recent theatre credits include the roles of Algernon in The Importance of Being Earnest and Orestes in Electra, as well as Don John/Verges (Much Ado About Nothing), Matt (Celebration) and Mark Antony (Julius Caesar) in training.

Michael will be appearing in Mark and the Marked


Miles Jovian 


Miles’ passion for the stage developed at a very early age: as a child he joined theatre groups such as Stage Coach and found that his inspiration to achieve came from watching and being involved in theatre and performances. As well as this Miles is a gigging musician who has performed across many parts of the UK in various pubs, clubs and venues. In 2014 he accepted his place at East15 Drama School in London to pursue his acting career, graduating with a 1st in BA Acting and Contemporary theatre in June 2017. Since graduating Miles has completed his 3rd feature before joining Box Clever on their exciting Shakespeare tour.

Miles will be appearing in Romeo & Juliet and Macbeth



Riad Richie


Riad’s love for action ignited him towards a career in Stage, TV and Film. After Graduating from East 15, studying acting & Stage Combat, Riad has engaged in various styles of performance. Riad played the villain ‘Chauvelin’ in the Tower of London’s ‘The Scarlet Pimpernel’ hosted by the Royal Armouries. He has also worked with Secret Cinema in numerous shows, most notably as ‘Chester Branson’ in ‘Saturday Night Fever’. Being highly skilled in stage combat has enabled Riad to gain specialist roles including Kenneth Branagh’s ‘Cinderella’ and BBC’s ‘The Musketeers’.
Riad will be appearing in Frankenstein, The Merchant of Venice, Romeo & Juliet and Macbeth


Robert Welling


Robert Welling Actor for Box Clever Theatre

Robert graduated from the University of Exeter and Drama Centre. Recent theatre includes; Mark and the Marked (Box Clever), Leaper (Lyric Hammersmith/UK Tour), Bear & Butterfly (Theatre by the Lake/UK Tour), Full Stop (UK Tour) and Hamlet (Park Theatre). Television includes; Crip On A Trip (Channel 4). Film includes; Billy Elliot (Universal). Robert is also a voiceover artist and has recorded for Listening Books and Now>Press>Play.
